Tansu Inspired Service Station with Illuminated Ikebana Display for n/naka


Tansu is the traditional mobile storage cabinetry indigenous to Japan. Part storage and part status symbol these chests come in many sizes with numerous compartments, sliding doors and a wide variety of interior configurations.

This piece features a recessed illuminated ikebana display, frame and panel sliding doors, dovetailed drawers, symmetrical design with 360 access and viewing.

Constructed from hand selected lumber from one California Black Walnut tree and hand milled and joined using traditional Japanese hand planes in our studio.








Walnut Slab Table


Book-matched walnut slab top features brass pinned breadboard ends and sits on a mortise and tenon trestle base. This table seats twelve.
